Rosario Football Club have been serving the people of South Belfast and beyond for over hundred years.
Our home ground is Ulidia playing fields on the Ormeau Road and we have recently been granted planning permission to turn it into one of the best amateur grounds in the country.
The club has almost 900 players from age 5 to 50 taking to the field each week, across 29 teams. This makes it one of the biggest amateur clubs in Northern Ireland. Rosario is a well supported club, with approximately 100 coaches, volunteers and a strong footballing reputation.
It has four sections:
- The seniors - Two adult teams playing in the Northern Amateur Football League
- The juniors - 14 teams from U12 up to U18
- Mini-soccer - For players aged 5 to 10
- Girls football - This season we hope to field four teams
The club has an overall committee, which is responsible for developing the strategy of the club, financial administration, ensuring child protection and dealing with disciplinary issues. We have the first female chairperson in Northern Irish amateur football, Ciara Boyes. Our head of coach development is Paddy Connolly and Danny Treacy oversees mini soccer.
We look forward to meeting new players, parents and guardians every year, and training times and locations for each age group will soon be on their respective sections of the website.
If you would like to join the club, please pop into one of our training sessions and have a chat with the manager.
We are always looking for more volunteers to help out the club in coaching and non-coaching positions and encourage parents and players to take an active role in the club. Whether helping to clean the kit, carrying water bottles, coaching a team or helping with the administration, there is a job for you. We provide support and training for anyone willing to give up some of their free time.
We are hoping to update this page very soon with with photos and memories of Rosario's early years. If you have anything to add to our collection we would love if you could contact us.
