Rosario YFC Ladies’ team are about to complete their first season and are even surprising themselves with the success of their inaugural year.
The group was set up last September (2017) by a group of football mums tired of cheering family members from the sidelines, but pretty soon attracted other women with fewer stretch marks and better social lives.
The players range in age from teenagers to over 50s and includes those with pre-existing football skills and those who ‘need more practice’.
Fitness levels are equally diverse and the emphasis is on fun rather than four minute miles. Having said that, the ‘squad’ have already taken part in a futsal and an 11-a-side development tournament and more than held their own.
We play indoors on Tuesdays 8-9pm at Aquinas Grammar School, Ravenhill Road and outdoors on Wednesdays 8-9pm at Cregagh Community Centre.
We welcome all new players, capped or not. Turn up either of the nights or contact Maureen on 07808 166965 for further encouragement.
