Rosario U16 Youth 3 v Shankill Juniors 1
Two first half goals from Alex Cullen and a late penalty from Eoin Adams gave Rosario a well deserved win in their Supplementary Cup game against Shankill this evening at Clarendon.
Cullen opened the scoring when his header from a Niall O Hara corner cannoned off the crossbar, hit the goalie and went into the net. Slightly fortuitous but well deserved after a period of strong Rosario pressure. He added a second after deftly beating three defenders and sliding the ball beyond the Shankill keeper.
Shankill pulled a goal back at the start of the second half after a long free kick from the right somehow found the back of the net with the Roses defence static. But Eoin Adams finally put the tie beyond doubt after winning and converting a penalty with just minutes left on the clock.
